Selling Your Expertise With An eBook

Amazon Kindle

What is an eBook?

I read eBooks all the time. My preferred eReader has been the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader. It is easily available and free, and can be used on most every computer device. I read eBooks on my Android. I prefer to read them on my NetBook. You can get eBooks (PDF’s) all over the Internet, from Amazon (Kindle Books), or Apple (iBooks).

The Kindle is an eReader or computer device. You DO NOT need it to read an eBook. It is a computer device. Amazon would like you to buy all of your eBooks from them and read them on a Kindle. Apple would like you to buy all of your eBooks from them and read them on a iPad. An eBook is simply a digital version of a book.

Why would I want to…

purchase a specific type of reading glasses to read books from only one bookstore? I guess that’s why I haven’t been too interested in Amazon’s Kindle. But now I realize that I can buy eBooks from Amazon and read them on multiple devices including my Android and NetBook. If you are an apple fan, read that as iPhone or iPad.

… Amazon recently announced it’s Kindle book sales exceeded hardback book sales last month. This is definitely a trend to watch because “over the past three months, for every 100 hardcover books Amazon.com has sold, it has sold 143 Kindle books.” While Amazon is saying that it is selling more ebooks than hardbacks, it seems to be spinning that into inferring these ebooks are being read on Kindles.

My conclusion is that eBooks sales are definitely the way of the future but Kindle sales is a “so what”. It’s just trying to be a iPad or a NetBook.
